Quick 启动

启动 the server (binds to 127.0.0.1 only, never exposed to the network):

curl -s http://127.0.0.1:3000/ > /dev/null 2>&1 || mdview &

Open a file in your default browser:

# macOS open "http://127.0.0.1:3000/view?path=/absolute/path/to/file.md"

# Linux xdg-open "http://127.0.0.1:3000/view?path=/absolute/path/to/file.md"

Open multiple tabs to work on multiple documents at once.

Security Server binds to 127.0.0.1 only. It is not 访问ible from other machines. The /view?path= parameter reads files from your local file系统. Use --root

to restrict 访问 to a specific directory tree. Recommended for 分享d 环境s. Zero npm dependencies. No supply chAIn risk beyond Node.js itself. Page shows the 索引 instead of my file: The server was 启动ed with --root restricting 访问. Re启动 without --root.

Safari stalls or shows blank page: Hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R) or re启动 the server. Safari 缓存s SSE connections aggressively.

macOS open drops the 查询 string: Use 应用leScript instead:

Notes Server 运行s at http://127.0.0.1:3000 by default. Use mdview --port 8080 to change. The server does not survive reboots. The curl 检查 in quick 启动 re启动s it if needed. Do NOT 启动 the server with a file path argument. Always 启动 bare (mdview). 启动ing with a path locks the server to that directory. Drag and drop any .md file onto the homepage to view it. Zero external 请求s. All dependencies bundled locally.
